The Year in Review: 2021

Hello Keepers,

As this year comes to a close, I want to thank each of you for simply holding on. 2021 was another year filled with uncertainty, challenges and losses. Some lost jobs, homes, our good health and for some, those we loved and held dear. When the year started, we were in the midst of the strictest lock down rules as restaurants, salons, and gyms were closed down. As the vaccine rolled out, we began to see restrictions lifted and things return to a new normal: we are still required to wear masks no matter our vaccination status indoors.

For organizations like Keeping it đź’Ż, we maintained a virtual presence with webinars about relationships, church trauma, and healthcare. We gained 500 more followers on Instagram and gained five new committee members. We partnered with another organization for a speed dating event and partnered with a new up and coming influencer for a virtual event on mental health care.

By the early spring we decided to host our first in person event in Los Angeles after nearly 18 months of only hosting virtual events. We were concerned about the health and safety of everyone and decided to host the event in an outdoor space. The event was our “End of Summer Soiree” and we exceeded our attendance goal and gained new followers. Being able to connect in person was awesome as many of us on the committee had not seen one another in over a year as well as many of our friends and family who came out and supported us.

We are certainly ending the year on a high note: we held our first in person Holiday Party since 2019  this past weekend. We hosted the party with three other professional organizations and the party was awesome! Of course we had to be in compliance with the ordinances for vaccine status for our attendance and fortunately we had no issues. The vibe and energy in the room was exactly what we wanted:

People came with a readiness to network in person..

The ratio of men to women in the room was just right…

Attendees danced, ate, drank, and enjoyed the beautiful setting of the party in the world famous Sunset Strip location with 180 degree views of Los Angeles.

It’s exactly how we wanted to end the year!

Speaking on behalf of the entire Keeping it đź’Ż Team,  we wish all of our supporters a Merry Christmas and may you and your family end this year remembering that yesterday is gone but tomorrow has not arrived yet…

If there is anything that the year 2021 taught us it is that we must enjoy each day that we have together…

As we embark on the new year 2022 with unknown days ahead, lets embrace each day and each other…

Stay tuned for more virtual innovation and amazing in person events in 2022…

Just Keeping it đź’Ż!
